The compact disk version of Cameras, Cars and Cosmo consists of two separate sections. The slide show, which is viewable on most computers, has more than 2500 advertisements for Rochester businesses from the 1820s through the 1950s. Each ad is indexed by category, year and business name so you can search the show and view select items if you wish. This slide show is a great resource for historians, genealogists, teachers, students and anyone who is interested in local history.
The second section of the CD includes the Bonus Material. Here you will find a magazine article about Kodak Park in 1891, another about the Selden factory and over a half dozen more. Also included are some interesting photos of Rochester. The subjects include a photo tour of Rochester in the early 1900s, and three fascinating panoramic views from the early 20th century. One is from the top of the Kodak office building, the second is from the old YMCA which stood where the Court Street Parking Garage is now and the third is from high above the current location of the Convention Center. Each can be enlarged and moved across by using your computer mouse or the controls on you slide show.
